The day Timothy was transplanted with donor cells resistant to HIV is February 16, 2007. And in 2013, we started marking his 'cure' birthdays as a way to reach people about the first cure and get them to enjoy some cake as well.

The conversation we had that day revolved around the two major kinds of cures for HIV that scientists are pursuing, including all of the variations in terminology one might encounter when getting involved with HIV cure research efforts.
